About Us

  • We are a group of Summit County residents who are passionate about ski mountaineering racing, or “skimo”.

  • Our mission is to introduce, grow, and support skimo in Summit County, CO and beyond.

  • Our vision is a large, local, and active member base that encourages the competitiveness and overall visibility of skimo in the US.

  • Our values are: community, fun, participation, increased interest, and youth growth and development

  • We support awareness and education including: snow safety, fitness, healthy lifestyles, alpine culture, and sportsmanship

  • We advocate for human powered skiing access and environmental stewardship.​​

We’re a Non-Profit!

Summit Skimo is a proud 501c3. We have been operating in Summit County, CO since 2011. We provide demo gear to members, workshops and free clinics to the community, volunteer at skimo races, organize social ski-touring events for members, and organize a youth intramural after-school club.
